Boat Rentals

Which Boat Rentals Are Best for My Favorite Water Sports?

Although the summer season is almost over, there’s still plenty of time to enjoy some of your favorite water sports. Whether you wish to spend an afternoon at Lake Tahoe water skiing, wakeboarding, or wake surfing, H2O Craft Rentals & Repair has the perfect boat rental for you. In the brief guide below, we’ve given some recommendations on what type of speed boat is best for your preferred water adventure.

Water Skiing

The boat of choice for water skiing needs to be fast, and provide a flat wake for the skier. A speed boat that provides at least 90 HP will work just fine; but, of course, the more power, the more adventurous you can be out on the water.

Wakeboarding

In wakeboarding, the rider is towed behind a motorboat on a wakeboard and literally rides the wake created by the boat. While this sport is similar to wake surfing, there are some minor, yet important, differences. A wakeboard is shorter than a wake surfboard and also has foot bindings in order to attach the rider to the board. The best type of boat for wakeboarding features large “wake towers” that are made of stainless steel and aluminum.

Wakesurfing

Wakesurfing, or boat surfing, is a combination of wakeboarding and surfing. Just like wakeboarding, the rider is towed behind a speed boat, but instead of riding a wakeboard, he/she will surf the wake on a wake surfboard. These surfboards are typically longer than wakeboards and do not attach to the rider. The recommended boat for wakesurfing requires an inboard boat with a propeller that is under the watercraft. This is important for the safety of the wakesurfer.
